Article Overview
In their article, the three authors found that because society has experienced a technological revolution, it is vital for college students to obtain a larger amount of skills during schooling. One of the most important skills is the ability to perform various tasks on the computer—including pagination, electronic editing, and digital graphics. Despite the need for new teachings, it is also highly important for professors to teach their students the basics of English as well. In order to come to these conclusions, the authors asked their subjects six questions through a survey (the original questions are included within the text of the journal article). A table comparing the answers of both professionals and professors is also included in the text.
So what comes next? It has been debated as to whether or not technology will eventually replace all copy editors. However, there is a solution to this technological takeover. Embrace the technology, do not let it control you.
